Dear Parents,

 

            We are looking forward to our construction being completed and being able to utilize the additional space for our programs.  In anticipation of this, we are asking your help to plan for our fall TLC program (grades 7 ￢ﾀﾓ 9).  Please send in your registration form early so that we can plan for our teaching needs.  Your interest and support are crucial in helping motivate our youth to active participation in Church life.  We look forward to your family￢ﾀﾙs participation!

 

Highlights of the TLC registration are:

1.      One registration during the summer that will be for all of next year (2003-2004).  This will eliminate the need for sending in a second registration form and will save many hours of record keeping.

           

2.      Each child will be assigned a class and a topic. 

ￂﾷ         Grades 7 & 8 will switch topics, teachers and possibly some of their classmates for the second semester.  Topics for Grade 7 are:  Jesus & Morality.  Topics for Grade 8 are: Discipleship & What Does It Mean to Be Catholic. 

ￂﾷ         Grade 9 is a review year in preparation for Confirmation focusing on understanding and participation in the fundamentals of our faith that will serve as our introduction to Confirmation. 

a.      Note: All 9th grade non-parochial students wishing to become part of our Confirmation program should register for 9th grade CCD.  Those in Catholic High School will join the program at the end of freshman year.

 

3.   We will try and honor those children who request a friend in their class.  There are several factors why this may not work out or remain the same for the second semester.  Examples of these factors are:  an imbalance between boys and girls, late registrations, behavioral concerns or our need to redistribute our classes.  Early registration is essential to helping this work effectively.  Parents please contact me if you have questions or concerns.

  

            Our program begins on Monday Oct. 20 at 7:15 with pizza, prayer, and our first class.  Please review the calendar  carefully for dates and times as well as our four parent sessions as part of our gathering activity. (All Classes run from 7:30 ￢ﾀﾓ 9:00PM, except for our initial class in the fall and winter.)

 

All parents will be invited to join us On October 27.  You will receive more information about our parents gathering in the fall. 

 

            We are looking forward to your participation and would appreciate your input.   We are also looking for additional help.  Please mark your interest on your registration form if you can help.  Registrations are due by July 20, 2003 so that we can purchase textbooks and plan accurately for the number of classes.  If our records are inaccurate about your child, or they are no longer eligible for the program, please let us know.  Have a nice summer!
