Confirmation Rehearsal
Sunday - May 6th promptly at 7:00 pm
Location: St. Joe's Church
All 10th graders must attend with their sponsor!

The Sacrament of Confirmation (Ceremony is in the spring of 10th grade)

   YEAR I Confirmation Preparation: Grade 9
   YEAR II Confirmation Preparation: Grade 10*

    *For teens who attend Catholic High School -Confirmation Preparation Classes begin in 10th grade.
    Be sure to register for class at St. Joe's at the In-House Registration Sunday during the month of
   April for 9th grade & 10th grade!

The celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation is a sign to the community of a person's willingness to embrace more fully the beliefs and mission of the Christian community and is a sign of the person's commitment toward continued growth and service in one's spiritual journey. It is also a sign to the person of the community's desire to support and encourage the individual in that journey.

Each Confirmation Candidate must select a SPONSOR upon entering the program in YEAR I (Grade 9)
A Sponsor must be a practicing Catholic, in good standing in the Church. Must be an adult over the age of 18 who has been Confirmed in the Catholic Church. (cannot be a parent).

THERE IS A MEETING FOR 8TH GRADERS AND THEIR PARENTS IN THE SPRING TO EXPLAIN THE PROGRAM. WATCH THE BULLETIN FOR DETAILS!

REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTANCE IN THE CHURCH OF SAINT JOSEPH’S CONFIRMATION PROGRAM

Continuous and sequential attendance in a Religious Education program (CCD) in grades 1-8.

All candidates who have not attended Religious Education sessions continuously will be required to participate in a remedial program.

Full participation in Confirmation Process (attending class, completing the service requirement, etc)

Candidates accepted in the Confirmation Process will not automatically receive the Sacrament of
Confirmation unless they are fully prepared.

Participation in Confirmation small group classes (only 2 absences permitted)
