Christ has taught us the necessity of praying at all times without losing heart. The Church has been faithful in obeying this instruction; it never ceases to offer prayer, and makes this exhortation its own. The Church satisfies this requirement not only by the celebration of the Eucharist but in other ways also, especially through the Liturgy of the Hours, which is distinguished from other liturgical actions by the fact that it consecrates to God the whole cycle of day and night, as it has done from early Christian times.Parish Picnic

The liturgical year is also sometimes known as the "Christian Year". This yearly cycle of feasts and seasons is rooted first in the events of the life of Jesus that reveal they mystery of salvation we celebrate at each liturgy and especially in the primary remembrances of his birth ( Christmas) and his resurrection from the dead (Easter).
Secondly, the liturgical year/ calendar also commemorates the events in the life of the Blessed Mother and of the various saints and martyrs whose lives are examples to all God's people of their faith and fidelity.
The seasons of the Church's liturgical year are Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and Ordinary Time.
The Church celebrates the paschal mystery on the first day of the week, known as the Lord's Day or Sunday. This follows a tradition handed down from the apostles and having its origin from the day of Christ's resurrection. Sunday, then is ranked as the first holy day of all.Miracle on Ice

Golf: the second most important Scottish invention. An interesting thing about golf is that no matter how badly you play, it is always possible to get worse. But really, golf is an easy game; it's just hard to play. And if you believe golf is more important than life and death, you will enjoy this package: a round of golf for three with member at Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, including lunch in the club house and a $100 gift certificate to be used in the Pro Shop. Here are some tips before you go out: The reason the golf pro tells you to keep your head down is so you can't see him laughing. Always throw your clubs ahead of you. That way you don't have to waste energy going back to pick them up. Happiness is a long walk with a putter. The last shot always goes in.
